Use of websites

Using the website of the Instituut voor de Nederlandse Taal (hereinafter: “the INT”) and any associated websites is subject to the conditions and restrictions outlined below. Access to and use of these websites (hereinafter: “the Sites ”) implies that you agree to the following:

  1. The INT expressly disclaims any liability for any damages resulting from access to and use of the Sites. No warranty is given regarding the error-free and uninterrupted functioning of the Sites.
  2. No warranty or representation, either explicit or implicit, is given regarding the accuracy or completeness of the information published on the Sites or made accessible through the Sites. The INT and its board and staff accept no liability for the information and/or recommendations published on the Sites or accessible through the Sites. That information and those recommendations may be changed without notice.
  3. All data displayed on the Sites, including text, photos, illustrations, graphic material, (trade) names, logos, trademarks and service marks, are owned by or licensed to the INT (with the exception of embedded data), and are protected by copyright, trademark and/or any other intellectual property rights. The (intellectual) property rights are in no way transferred to any (legal) persons using the Sites.
  4. The contents of the Sites may only be used for non-commercial and/or private purposes. You may not reproduce, modify, delete or make the content of the Sites available to third parties for remuneration without the express written permission of the INT.
  5. References or hyperlinks to other sites not owned by or licensed to the INT are included for informational purposes only. The INT provides no guarantees and accepts no liability regarding the content of those sites.
  6. The INT reserves the right to delete user accounts and any associated data if they have been inactive for two years.

Uploading data

Uploading data on the Sites means that you agree to the following:

  1. You confirm that you have the right to upload the data and that the content complies with applicable laws and regulations. You are therefore not allowed to upload copyrighted material without permission, nor any content that violates the law, such as, for example, material that violates privacy laws, contains confidential or stolen information, incites hatred or discrimination. 
  2. The INT reserves the right to monitor uploaded data. Data that is discriminatory, hateful, inflammatory, misleading, inappropriate or harmful (such as viruses or malware), or violates intellectual property rights, privacy laws or other legal provisions, may be permanently deleted without prior notice.

Publishing data

Publishing data on the Sites means that you agree to the following:

  1. You confirm that the data you publish does not infringe any copyright, database rights, trademarks or other intellectual property rights of third parties. You may only publish data for which you hold the necessary rights and permissions.
  2. Published data must not contain personal data, unless explicit consent has been obtained and unless the data complies with applicable legislation, including the GDPR.
  3. You may only use the Sites for publishing data in accordance with the purposes of the Sites. Publishing illegal, misleading, harmful or inappropriate data is prohibited.
  4. You grant the INT a non-exclusive license to host and distribute your data.
  5. The INT reserves the right to remove data that violates these terms without prior notice.
  6. The INT is not liable for any damages resulting from the use of the published data.

Sharing of data

Sharing data via the Sites means that you agree to the following:

  1. You confirm that the data you share does not infringe any copyright, database rights, trademarks or other intellectual property rights of third parties. You may only share data for which you hold the necessary rights and permissions.
  2. Shared data must not contain personal data, unless explicit consent has been obtained and unless the data is in accordance with applicable legislation, including the GDPR.
  3. You may only use the Sites for data sharing in accordance with the purposes of the Sites. Sharing illegal, misleading, harmful or inappropriate data is prohibited.
  4. The INT reserves the right to remove data that violates these terms without prior notice.
  5. The INT is not liable for any damages resulting from the use of the shared data.
