Why collaborate with the INT?
As a language infrastructure institute, the INT thinks and acts in a long-term and a user-oriented way. As a partner in language-related research projects, the institute can offer a unique expertise within the Dutch language area to make research outcomes available in a sustainable way and based on the principles of FAIR-access. Thanks to its own longstanding experience with the inhouse development of language resources and applications, the institute also has a track record as a successful and reliable research partner in numerous R&D projects. The INT also offers opportunities to individual researchers and students for research stays and internships. Find out more about the different options for collaboration below.
Collaboration in nationally funded projects (NWO, FWO)
Within the Netherlands, the INT is an AMBI foundation and a recognized research institue by the NWO. The INT can apply for NWO funding and can also be a partner or a contractor in NWO funded projects. Recently, INT was a partner in the CLARIAH and CLARIAH-PLUS projects and currently it is a contractor in SSHOC-NL.
In Flanders, the INT can be a third party in different types of FWO-projects. Recently, INT was a partner in the Hercules infrastructure project Database of Southern Dutch Dialects and the FWO infrastructure project Spoken Corpus of Southern Dutch Dialects. Additionally, the INT participates as a partners in projects funded by Flemish universities, like the KU Leuven project Spoken Academic Belgian Dutch.
Collaborate in EU funded projects
The INT has a track-record of co-operation on the European level (see also the organisation profile with the European Commission). The institute was one of the main partners in the FP7 projects on text digitisation IMPACT and SUCCEED. The institute also took the lead in the COST-action European Network of e-Lexicography (ENeL, 2013-2017). Coming out of this network, the INT was one of the main partners in EU Horizon 2020 project for the creation of a European Lexicographic Infrastructure (ELEXIS 2018-2022). The INT was the main partner for infrastructural support in the Horizon 2020 project on Sign Language Translation (SignON, 2021-2023). Recently, the institute has participated in several COST-actions and has been a partner in multiple successfully submitted Horizon project proposals, including on lexicography, inclusive language technologies and language policy support.
