Vincent Vandeghinste studied theoretical psychology (psycholinguistics) at the KU Leuven and linguistics at the KU Leuven and the University of Antwerp. He wrote his doctoral thesis at the KU Leuven, on the subject of automatic translation without parallel data.
He has been working as a researcher at the Dutch Language Institute (INT) since 2018, primarily focusing on linguistic infrastructures (www.clarin.eu). He is the national coordinator for CLARIN Belgium and a member of the executive committee of CLARIN.eu. Additionally, he works on language technologies aimed towards inclusivity, such as text simplification, sign language technologies and translations into pictograms for people with literacy issues, and automatic translation.
Vincent is also affiliated with the KU Leuven, where he is involved in the courses Language Engineering Applications, Machine Translation: Advanced Topics, Computationele Lexicografie and Introduction to Machine Learning with Python. Furthermore, he is a member of the editing board of the magazine Computational Linguistics in the Netherlands Journal (www.clinjournal.org).
