Lisa van den Hoven studied Linguistics (BA) at Leiden University. During her studies, she focused on descriptive linguistics, in particular in relation to minority languages. She studied Korean both in her free time and during her minor, and spent six months living in Seoul. Equipped with this knowledge and experience, she wrote her BA dissertation on the grammaticalization of the perfective and progressive markers in Jejueo, a nearly extinct sister language of Korean.

Lisa has been a linguistic assistant at the Dutch Language Institute (INT) since 2025. She manages the service desk and is happy to reply to all your suggestions and questions. She also supports several of the INT’s projects: the expansion of the corpus of historical newspapers, adapting the General Dutch Grammar (ANS) for educational purposes, the further expansion of the Database of the Southern Dutch Dialects (DSDD) and editing the Dictionary of Contemporary Dutch (ANW).
